Traqmate Goes Racin

Fast Lap of Atlanta Motorsports Park

Well, fast for a 20 year old Miata anyway! AMP is a brand new motorsports country club set in the wooded hills of Dawsonville, GA, north of Atlanta. It is tricky, twisty, and totally terrific – lots of elevation change, off-camber corners, increasing and decreasing radius turns, and a long long long downhill left-hander. Two minutes to lap but a long time to master!
AMP and Traqmate are currently running a promotion. The membership fees are going up soon so join the club in the next 2 weeks to get the lower rates and as an additional incentive, AMP will buy you a $1000 Traqmate Classic!
This video was taken in an almost stock 1990 Miata on old Toyo 888 tires.

This year’s Classic Motorsports Mitty vintage race was a rousing success. Tens of thousands came to Road Atlanta in the scenic and hilly Georgia countryside to gather with car buddies, watch vintage races, eye some beautiful machinery, and just have a good time.
Thanks for stopping by the Traqmate trailer. We had a great time despite some mechanical gremlins with the Traqmate Lotus. During qualifying a brake caliper seal failed and was still leaking after a rebuild. There was no fix so we just capped off the left rear so the Lotus had only 3 brakes during the big race! It was a bit dicey but Glenn managed to finish first in his group and 6th overall in a field of 50 plus cars. Check out the video below of the qualifying session with lots of cool old cars, including more racing Corvairs than you have seen in your entire life!

The Traqmates
Danny Steyn and OPM Autosportshave done it again with this amazing build. The Best Damn Spec Miata needed the Best Damn Data System on the market, so they chose Traqmate.
Traqmate’s new Traqdash is a huge improvement in display over the original unit and this unit has replaced the speedometer and rev counter in the car and also performs the shift light functions. The blue tachometer sweep complements the car’s cobalt blue paint with dayglow orange accents. You can’t miss this car in your mirror!

The Traqdash was designed to provide the driver with all the information he needs in a compact space. OPM mounted the TraqDash in the instrument panel so that it is easily visible through the steering wheel and places the RPM, predictive lap timer, lap counter, alarms, and shift light right in the driver’s sightline.

Several inputs are mapped into the Traqmate including AF Ratio, Fuel Pressure, Throttle Position and Brake Pressure. The Traqmate also controls the Sony HD camera via LANC.

This Spec Miata isn’t just about looking pretty, Danny is a top driver in the Southeast, an SCCA National Runoffs competitor, and races the car hard at every event.
